Let the Good Times Roll! Come Rain or Shine, Upcoming California Jazz & Wine Festival Has You Covered!

Sure, the weather’s been a bit unpredictable lately! But whether it’s pouring with rain or baking hot, you can count on remaining dry and comfortable at the completely covered venue of this year’s spectacular Fifth Annual California Jazz and Wine Festival, coming up this Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village. No need to huddle under an umbrella or slather on the sunblock! Just head on over for a fun and relaxing afternoon filled with the very best jazz, wine and food that California has to offer!

This year’s event promises to be better than ever before! The hotel’s main ballroom and an adjacent marquee tent will showcase some of the hottest jazz artists in the country, including three-time Grammy winner Tom Scott and his Quintet, the amazing Adam Clark Trio and the big brass sounds of the Santa Barbara City College Jazz Big Band. Don’t miss the fabulous Barrelhouse Wailers, award-winning harpist, Lori Andrews, the Doug Webb Group and the Westlake High School Jazz Ensemble, who will be performing on the Bistro Stage located in the marquee tent. The incredibly talented guitarist Paul McCallum also returns to the festival by popular demand, along with his equally talented and star-studded band of friends.

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than listening to some amazing jazz performances while sipping fine wines and nibbling on your favorite gourmet foods? You’ll enjoy some of the finest vintage wines from California wineries, including Cornell, Stonehaus, Nabu, Blendz, Opolo, Labyrinth, Four Brix, Squashed Grapes and many more. And what better cause to contribute to than the Mark Taper and Johnny Mercer Artists Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles? Using paint, clay, musical instruments and poems to heal the whole child as opposed to just addressing their symptoms or injury, the program leverages art, dance, drama, music and expressive arts therapies to achieve better health outcomes. Through art and music, the program helps its young patients alleviate anxiety, provides psychological support and offers creative outlets for self-expression. Unlike the traditional art and recreation programs found in many hospitals, the Mark Taper and Johnny Mercer Artists Program brings together local artists, performers, and teachers with registered and certified Expressive Arts Therapists to meet patients diverse needs.
