Supporting Non-Profits in the Greater Conejo Valley

Delicious sounds and flavors are coming to Southern California this spring; for the third year in a row, Conejo Creek Park will be the site of the popular California Jazz & Wine Festival.  From 1-4 PM on Sunday, May 18, the annual event will kick off the summer with an extraordinary offering of music, food, drinks, and generosity.

From jazz enthusiasts and musicians to beer and wine connoisseurs, attendees won’t just be satisfying their own palates and making lifelong memories; they’ll also help change lives. Every ticket sale will benefit a variety of non-profit organizations in Southern California, and this year marks the first time that some of those organizations will sell the tickets too.  If you purchase yours directly from one of the participating “50/50 Non-Profit Partners” of your choice, the non-profit will receive 50% of the value of the ticket sale, and you’ll pay 10% less, thanks to the festival’s exclusive fundraising partnership.

In its first two years, the musical event succeeded in making life a little more musical for high school students too.  As in the past, this year’s proceeds will go to support  music booster programs at local area high schools, allocating valuable resources to promote and enhance their programs.

As official sponsors of the annual event, the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise will also continue their own long legacy of serving the community and improving life for local families.  Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, prostate cancer, and hunger are just a few of the many debilitating and fatal conditions that the club is trying to fight, through its ongoing support of local and international charity chapters.

Despite its relatively young history, the California Jazz & Wine Festival is already a highly-anticipated celebration that draws attendees from throughout the tri-county area, including Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Simi Valley, home to the many student musicians who will benefit from its proceeds.  The event is a rare opportunity for everyone to help their community just by indulging in gourmet selections from its finest microbreweries, wineries, and restaurants.

Even chart-topping rock stars are coming out to support these worthy causes. Ambrosia, a progressive jazz& rock band with multiple Top 40 hit singles under their belts (including “Biggest Part of Me”), will return to their native Southern California in order to headline the event’s exciting entertainment lineup.
