Winery Highlight: Alma Sol Winery

We would like to take a moment to give praise to one of our favorite local wineries and a wine exhibitor at last year’s California Jazz & Wine Fest, Alma Sol Winery. This family-owned and operated winery hand picks premium grapes and focuses on artisan winemaking by sourcing premium fruit from the top vineyards in California. The family business began after multiple trips to Paso Robles where they became familiar with the industry and wanted to start their own winemaking operation.

The name, Alma Sol, can be attributed to two major qualities that make beautifully handcrafted wines, soul and sun. John and Lisa, the masterminds behind the family operation, have gone above and beyond to create a unique wine that is not as easily made in Paso Robles. While the Zinfandel is the most prominent wine of the region, John and Lisa decided that they would prove outsiders wrong by making amazing Bordeaux in the Central Coast, and handcrafting a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon despite speculations.

A winery highlight would be nothing without insight into the beautiful tasting room! Located in the heart of Thousand Oaks, the Alma Sol Winery tasting room is open only on the weekends. On Fridays, you can indulge from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, on Saturdays from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, and on Sundays from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Special holiday hours are announced on the website, as well as random closures due to winery operations in Paso Robles.
